- Employment must be at the same university where student is attending classes
- Enrolled at least half-time (including summer semesters)
- Career employees are not eligible
- Exemption does not apply to employees who are postdoctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, medical or dental residents, or medical interns.
*Student appointees are not eligible to receive sick leave. They are not eligible to receive other types of paid leave or holidays and they are not eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
