Human Resources's Responsibility

The Human Resources Department will:

  • Collect the Volunteer Profile, the Parental Consent Form (if applicable), and the memo from International Affairs (if applicable).
  • Conduct security sensitive checks on all potential volunteers and notify appropriate Unit Volunteer Coordinator if the potential volunteer has an unsatisfactory security sensitive report.
  • Advise the potential volunteer to proceed to Health Services for administration of the TB skin test. The potential volunteer has the option of providing TB skin tests from his or her personal physician however it must have been administered within the preceding six months and is subject to review of Health Services.
  • Process volunteer’s badge. Badge pictures will be taken during the potential volunteer’s visit with Human Resources. Upon clearance notifications regarding security sensitive checks and TB skin tests, the UTHSC-H Volunteer Coordinator (HR) will forward the badge to the Unit Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Upon completion of volunteer’s assignment, UTHSC-H Volunteer Coordinator (HR) will collect the ID badge.
