Level I:
Applies to all EVP, VP, and Dean (Management A&P only) positions. Minimum 10 day posting required. Full search committee required (minimum of 5 members). Requires Diversity consultation at the beginning of the search and review prior to offer extension.
Level II:
Applies to all other A&P positions. Two tracks are available:
Under track 1, the hiring manager may elect to conduct an internal (HSC-wide) search. Minimum 10-day posting required. No search committee required. No Diversity consultation required, however, Diversity review is required prior to offer extension.
Under track 2 the hiring manager may elect to conduct an external search. Minimum 10-day posting required. Minimum of 3-person committee required. Requires Diversity consultation at the beginning of the search and review prior to offer extension.
Request for Waiver:
A request to waive the Search Committee process is subject to approval by the Vice President of Human Resources, who will obtain a recommendation from the Diversity Office. The final approval is at the discretion of the Chief Operating Officer.
Notes:
(1) There is no "progression through the ranks" into or within A&P positions. However, if the compensation office determines that a position now exceeds the original scope and qualifies for the next level (i.e. AVP to VP) employee may be re-classified into the new title without a search committee. Such re-classification may include re-designation from classified to A&P and requires prior approval by the Vice President of Human Resources.
(2) If the committee determines that diversity goals can be met and qualified candidates exist within UTHSCH, they may, with concurrence of the Diversity Office, limit initial reviews to internal candidates.
