For those Summer Hire positions working in a position identified as involving potentially hazardous activities or exposures, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires the individual to be at a minimum age of 18 years. Such activities include, but are not limited to:
• Motor vehicle driver defined as any individual who, in the course of employment drives a motor vehicle at any time
• Power-driven machine operator
• Workers in occupations involving exposure to ionizing radiation
