- Verification of eligibility to work
- Completion of criminal background check
- Completion of sanctions/exclusions check and
- Completion of a health screen
What to expect when you arrive:
- Let the person at the front desk know you are here for pre-employment and they will get you started on the necessary employment forms. Your picture will be taken for your employee identification badge.
- You will then be advised to go to the UT Employee Health Services Department on the 16th floor (Suite 1620) so that you may complete the necessary health forms and any health testing that may be required.

New hires at UT Houston are required to complete Employee Health forms. We encourage you to bring a copy of your immunization records and laboratory results of antibody tests along with these forms.
A tb skin test may be required for your position. If a tb skin test is required, you must return within 48-72 hours after the tb skin test is administered and the tb skin test must be cleared prior to your beginning employment.
A TB skin test is required for the following employee categories:
- Non-human primate handlers
- Center for Laboratory Animal Medicine and Care employees
- Healthcare workers including all Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC) employees
- Facilities employees
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) employees
- Child Development employees
A TB skin test is not required for the following categories:
- Laboratory employees who do not have primate contact or work with TB
- All employees who do not fall into one of the categories listed above
Staff at our UT Employee Health Services Department will review your health history and talk to you about what health tests and/or immunizations may be needed for your position. These health tests and/or immunizations will be provided at no cost to you.
During Pre-Employment all new employees are required to complete necessary employment paper work, to include an Eligibility to work form (I-9), take ID Badge picture as well as complete part 1 and 2 of a health screen (TB Skin Test) which normally will take about 30-45 minutes within the Human Resources Office. |
