As an experienced fundraising professional, you will provide the executive leadership needed in building a program for existing and emerging donors to the Brown Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases (IMM) and its collaborative partners across the campus.
As a key member of the Office of Institutional Advancement, the incumbent will be responsible for unifying efforts with national constituencies and focusing on the Institute’s unique research and achievements pertaining to cardiovascular disease, cell signaling, human genetics, immunology, and autoimmune diseases. Demonstrated fundraising, leadership and communication skills are essential. Duties will include putting an emphasis on gifts exceeding $500,000, for both current use and endowment; managing a portfolio of individual prospects; and visiting potential corporate and national foundation prospects. Project management skills are needed to effectively develop and implement strategies for principal gift prospects. The ability to work with school-based major gift officers on developing collaborative strategies is also needed for this high-profile position.
Requirements include:
- A Bachelor’s in a related field with a minimum 10 years’ experience in major/principal gift fundraising; Master’s degree preferred
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be conversant in the research of the IMM to a donor population
