Office of Research Support Committees
The Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects (CPHS) is the Institutional Review Board for the Health Science Center. It is charged with certifying that all research enrolling human subjects, or using human derived materials or data, conforms to the principles enunciated in the Assurance of Compliance document negotiated between the Health Science Center and the Department of Health and Human Services.

In compliance with federal regulations, they periodically offer training that meets the requirement for education on the protection of human subjects. CPHS provides information on scheduled classes through their website. Also available from this site are links to on-line training courses that would meet the federal regulations for training on the protection of human subjects.
